11 Fresh Content |

There is considerable evidence that the engines like sites that are updated on a regular basis, and sites that are large. Since adding fresh new content on a regular basis satisfies both of these requirements it is a no brainer to keep your site updated and added to regularly.
You are, or you should be, the expert in your field. Get to work writing good content and keep an eye to keyword density and optimization when you do so. Experiment with page sizes, and keyword densities. I have mentioned elsewhere in this course that it pays off in the long run to have many, many pages, some big, some small, some with high keyword density, some with lower, some with middle ground. You see, there are two points to my theory here. First off, there is no way that any given website is going to have 100 pages all exactly 1,000 words of text. This just isn't reality. You are going to have some at 1,000 words, some at 100 words, and lots inbetween. That is reality.
Secondly, and to me I really believe in this, algorithms change. When they do change they go looking for pages with other "qualities" to them. So let's say that today Google likes, and ranks well, pages with about 1,000 words of copy with a keyword density of 9%. Tomorrow they change their algorithm and all of the sudden they like pages with 500 words and 5% keyword density.
If you are paying attention to me you will be creating a website that has many pages of many sizes and of many keyword densities. When the algorithms change and you lose your positions chances will be pretty good that you will have other pages that rise in the ranks. At this point in time you can analyze your pages that dropped against your pages that rose, and accordingly make changes to your most important "home" and "category" pages. You are ahead of the game already while everyone else is trying to scramble and figure out what happened you have pages that rose in the ranks to tell you exactly what is working NOW!
OK, I hope I have made my point. Big sites, lots of variety, all kinds of pages and all kinds of keyword densities. Of course, concentrate on what you know works right now, for your main pages.
